Heather K. McElroy, Ph.D.

Dr. McElroy completed her bachelor's degree in psychology from the Ohio State University and a master's degree in psychology and a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from The University of Alabama. She completed one year of clinical internship at The University of South Carolina School of Medicine and subsequently completed a postdoctoral program in forensic and police psychology with Stone, McElroy and Associates. Her most recent accomplishment is that of a certified police officer and Reserve Officer with the Woodstock Police Department.

Dr. McElroy's professional practice is focused upon psychological testing and evaluation. She has training and experience in the subspecialty of sex offender evaluation as well as competency to stand trial and assessments to assist in determinations of not guilty by reason of insanity. She has also conducted numerous evaluations with children and adolescents with disruptive behavior problems as well as with child and adolescent victims of sexual assault. Dr. McElroy has conducted research and published a number of articles regarding parenting and child behavior problems, and she has presented her research at a number of national and international conferences. Dr. McElroy is a member of a number of professional organizations including the Society of Police and Criminal Psychology as well as the International Association for the Chief's of Police.
