Relevant work experience or qualifications
Mr. Schiff has many years of experience in law enforcement, as a police officer & detective, manager, and trainer. From 1972 through 1975 he was Director of Training & Assistant to the Director of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation where, among his many responsibilities, was the development and implementation of personnel selection and evaluation systems. In 1975 he founded The Operant Group, Inc., a consulting company focused on helping organizations to identify, design, and implement cost-effective solutions to employee performance problems (clients included AT&T, BellSouth, Microsoft, Boeing Aircraft, Federal Express, Apple Computer, Dun & Bradstreet, Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, Bell Canada, Georgia Power, Centers for Disease Control, Sandia Laboratories, U.S. Army, U.S. Marines, American Express, Citibank, Institute for Nuclear Power Operations, Allstate Insurance, General Motors, Federal Emergency Management Administration, Blue Cross-Blue Shield, Zenith Electronics, Shell Oil Company, and others). Mr. Schiff has received POST certified training in hostage negotiation, crisis intervention, criminal psychological profiling, and police peer counseling. In 1999, seeking to cut back on his consulting practice, Mr. Schiff returned to school to complete a Master's Degree in Counseling. During that period, he also joined with Stone and Associates in order to expand his forensic skills in the area of law enforcement psychology. In that capacity, he participated in pre-employment psychological evaluations and fitness for duty examinations for public safety personnel and others under supervision of Dr. Stone. He also conducted critical incident (post shooting) stress debriefings.
