Anthony V. Stone, Ph.D., MPH

Dr. Anthony Stone is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist specializing in Forensic Psychology. He holds Board Certification in both Police Psychology from the Society for Police and Criminal Psychology as well as other advanced certifications. For the past twenty-five years Dr. Stone has specialized in providing occupational risk-oriented psychological Services for Law Enforcement and other organizations. Dr. Stone has published and lectured extensively in the area of Fitness for Duty. His book, Fitness for Duty: Principles, Methods and Legal Issues, was published in 2000 by CRC Press. He has given and received training at the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia and has provided training to medical and psychological staffs of federal security organizations (CIA, NSA), private employers, law enforcement personnel, police psychologists and other groups.

Through Stone, McElroy and Associates, Dr. Stone provides psychological pre-employment screening services to nearly one hundred public and private organizations. Services include pre-employment psychological evaluations of candidates for safety-sensitive positions, fitness-for-duty evaluations, post critical-incident evaluations and consultation and training. Additionally, Dr. Stone performs threat assessment services for a wide variety of public and private sector organizations, including a number of Fortune 500 Companies, Universities and Hospitals, television networks and media production organizations, and many local, state and federal government agencies. Past private sector clients have included major airlines, Big Eight accounting firms, major electronics companies, and several hospitals. Public sector organizations served include many municipalities, State Agencies and Federal Departments, including U.S. Departments of Defense and the Treasury, and the U.S. Justice Department and Postal Service.

Dr. Stone received his undergraduate degree in Psychology from Johns Hopkins University and his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of South Florida in 1977. He was a post-doctoral fellow and subsequently earned a Masters Degree in Public Health (MPH) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is a Licensed Psychologist and is a Fellow of the American Board of Forensic Examiners and a Diplomate in Police Psychology of the Society of Police and Criminal Psychology. He also is member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police, the Association of Threat Assessment Professionals, the Society for Police and Criminal Psychology and a number of other organizations. Dr. Stone is a Certified Peace (Police) Officer in Georgia.
